United in Empowerment

Growing up in a small community, I had few chances to connect with people from different backgrounds or learn about the world beyond my town. So, when I joined this project that aims to reduce the gender gap between men and women in professional fields, I was excited to expand my horizons and learn new things. Throughout the project, I attended various workshops and group activities that opened my eyes to women’s challenges in different countries. It was eye-opening to hear about the discrimination and bias that women face in the labor market and the impact it has on their ability to succeed in their careers. I also had the chance to share my experiences as an Armenian woman and raise awareness about the challenges women in my community face. One of the most valuable aspects of the project was the focus on female entrepreneurship. I learned about the importance of empowering women to start their own businesses and the many benefits this can bring to individuals, communities, and society as a whole. I also had the chance to develop my own entrepreneurial skills and learn how to use entrepreneurship to address gender gap issues. Being around a diverse group of people from different backgrounds, ages, and cultures was a truly enriching experience. I learned so much from each person I met and felt a sense of unity and understanding that transcended borders and boundaries. I also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful country of Cyprus and learn more about its rich cultural heritage. However, this project wasn’t just about formal training and cultural exchange. It was also about having fun and building relationships. We had team-building activities, a cultural night, and plenty of opportunities to explore the local area. I believe that recognizing and learning more about other cultures is vital for personal growth, and I know that this experience will stay with me for a long time. Each interaction I had with each participant, facilitator, and local left a mark on my heart. We taught each other words in our languages and dances, and I had the privilege of meeting people with backgrounds in entrepreneurship. Their experience and connection to these brilliant people are rare, and I feel grateful to have been a part of it. Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this project. It has opened my eyes to the challenges women face in the labor market and given me the skills and knowledge to help address these issues. It has also allowed me to connect with people worldwide and learn from their experiences and perspectives. I will carry these lessons and connections with me for the rest of my life and continue to fight for gender equality and empowerment for all women.
